Installing Cameras
You can connect from one to four monochrome cameras (EIA or CCIR) or up to two RGB
color cameras. Jumper settings on the MVS-8100C select color or monochrome mode.
You cannot combine color and monochrome cameras at the same time.
When you set the jumpers for color mode, camera ports 0 and 2 are disconnected and
should not be used. Connect color cameras only to camera ports 1 or 3.
Table 2 shows the MVS-8100C’s camera connection options. See Table 21 on page 50
to determine the Cognex cable part number for your camera.
On all vertically-oriented MVS-8100C jumpers, pin 1 is at the top of the board. On all
horizontally-oriented jumpers, pin 1 is at the left of the board. Figure 5 shows the factory
default settings of the color/monochrome selection jumpers.
